Center Park Group, a leading general contractor and home builder specializing in build-to-rent (BTR) development across the Southeast, announces that it has broken ground on The Radler Townhomes, a 114-unit rental home community in the Town of Summerville, South Carolina. The project is situated near the intersection of Interstate 26 and U.S. Route 17, approximately 24 miles northwest of downtown Charleston.
Vertical construction is scheduled to begin in August 2026, and project completion is expected in Q4 2027. Center Park Group is the general contractor for the townhomes and community amenities, which are being built for Woodfield Development.
The Radler Townhomes will feature three-story townhomes, delivering a mix of flexible floor plans with two to four bedrooms, up to three-and-a-half bathrooms and 1,788 to 2,401 square feet of modern living space. Some homes will also include private yards, adding desirable outdoor living space. Interiors will feature quartz countertops and stainless-steel appliances, while walk-in closets and one- or two-car garages provide additional storage and functionality.
“We’re proud to partner with Woodfield Development on The Radler Townhomes, a project that reflects their vision for thoughtfully designed rental housing and the growing demand for well-located homes in Summerville,” said Jason Esposito, President of Center Park Group. “In high-growth markets like Charleston, build-to-rent continues to play a critical role in addressing housing supply constraints. Woodfield selected Center Park Group for our ability to deliver residential product, but with the discipline and standards of a commercial contractor. Our approach combines the efficiency of large-scale homebuilding, institutional-grade systems, cost control and execution consistency, resulting in a more predictable, cost-effective outcome for our partners. It’s a model built on trust, industry expertise, and long-standing relationships across the Southeast.”
The Charleston region continues to see population and job growth fueled by logistics, port activity, healthcare and advanced manufacturing, along with continued in-migration across the Southeast. As housing demand outpaces supply in several submarkets, professionally managed rental housing has become an increasingly important sector of the region’s housing landscape. Summerville remains a key growth corridor, offering proximity to major employment centers along Interstate 26 while maintaining access to retail, schools and lifestyle amenities. The Nexton master-planned community has become a focal point for residential development, emphasizing connectivity, walkability and integrated neighborhood design.
Many of today’s renters want flexibility and convenience, with homes that offer the space and feel of single-family living without the maintenance, cost or long-term commitment of homeownership. Woodfield’s Radler Townhome development adds this much-needed housing supply in Summerville, one of the Southeast’s most active housing markets.
